SKD Yarns supplies knitting wool, yarn, patterns and accessories from Northern Europe and Scandinavia selling knitting wool and yarn through our on-line business.  

 We are a small family run business specialising in Sandnes and Kauni Yarns, from Norway and Estonia.

SKD were the Official translator of SANDNES patterns to English for several years, and stock many of their knitting patterns in English that are not available anywhere else.

Our main yarn is Sandnes who are the largest manufacturer of wool in Norway, offering the knitter a large selection of high quantity knitting yarn in wool, merino, alpaca, mohair and cotton yarns, they are pleasing to knit with and give superb stitch definition and wear well. We also have a large selection of Sandnes patterns translated into English that can be bought to knit with these beautiful yarns.

We have one of the largest ranges of Sandnes yarns in the UK, and try to stock many of the traditional yarns Peer Gynt, Fritidsgarn, made using 100% Norwegian Wool, as well as the newer Petiteknit ranges, used in many of the Petiteknit patterns from Denmark.

Kauni 100% wool yarns from Estonia, offer the knitter in the Effect yarn, long colour runs which result in some stunning looking knits, as well as a large selection of plain colours to compliment them.

Both these companies offer a quality knitting wool at a price that our customers believe to be excellent value for money, and we are now establishing a growing loyal following of repeat customers, from not only the UK but from as far away as USA, Australia, Japan and South Korea.
